Municipalidad de San Felipe concreta primer pago de alrededor de $160 millones a 17 trabajadores de la ex empresa de Parquímetros de San Felipe, que demandaron en tribunales a la entidad edilicia. Este pago es parte del acuerdo alcanzado por la autoridad comunal para comenzar a dar término a la demanda solidaria existente en su contra y en la cual se debe resolver la situación de legal de un total de 32 personas.
El Administrador Municipal Hernán Herrera agradeció la voluntad y disposición que estos trabajadores han mostrado con la actual administración, aceptando que siempre ha existido la intención de cubrir de la mejor forma posible la deuda salarial y previsional que la extinta empresa dejó con sus trabajadores.
“Ellos soportaron estoicamente esta situación durante varios años, agradecemos también al Concejo Municipal, que apoyó esta gestión encabezada por la Alcaldesa Carmen Castillo, en cuanto a solucionar un problema a personas, principalmente de San Felipe, que estaban trabajando para esta empresa de parquímetros y que, en definitiva, desaparece de la ciudad y los deja en total desamparo”, declaró Herrera.
Gracias a la negociación alcanzada, en la cual estos trabajadores aceptaron rebajar el monto de las indemnizaciones fijadas en el tribunal, con el objeto de acelerar el pago de la deuda, el Administrador Municipal confirmó que el municipio sanfelipeño, se estará ahorrando una suma importante de dinero, puesto que la demanda inicial superaba los $500 millones, sin considerar el monto adeudado en cotizaciones previsionales.
“Hay un ahorro por parte del municipio de unos $300 millones, hay algunos trabajadores que aún no han manifestado su voluntad de llegar a acuerdo, hay tres causas que se encuentran pendientes de resolver en la Corte Suprema, por lo cual, hoy estamos a la espera de aquello para poder tener claridad de cuánto es el impacto definitivo de esta situación, pero claramente es mucho menor a lo que deberíamos haber pagado en un principio”, sentenció Herrera.
En relación a la situación en la que se encuentra la negociación con los restantes trabajadores, aseguró que aunque existen algunos que se niegan a llegar un acuerdo, en general, la relación con los abogados de los demandantes ha sido positiva y se espera llegar prontamente a un avenimiento.
