División Andina informó que tras el incidente ambiental del pasado jueves 25 de febrero, los parámetros de la calidad del agua del Río Aconcagua, se mantienen dentro de los rangos históricos, cumpliendo plenamente la normativa vigente, según monitoreo realizado por un laboratorio externo y certificado por la Universidad de Chile. En un comunicado de prensa la División Andina indica que; “en cuanto a los resultados de los estudios realizados al suelo de la Escuela Básica Río Blanco, se informa que estos no se encuentran contaminados. El análisis fue realizado por el Laboratorio de Química de Suelos y Aguas de la Facultad de Ciencias Agronómicas de la Universidad de Chile, que tomó muestras de suelo a solicitud de la Seremi de Salud para permitir el comienzo del año escolar. El informe señala que “se diagnostica que los valores de pH, conductividad eléctrica y niveles de metales se encuentran dentro de los rangos típicos o normales de suelos no contaminados”.
Durante este miércoles, el presidente Ejecutivo de Codelco, Nelson Pizarro, concurrió a la División Andina y verificó el funcionamiento de las operaciones y las labores post incidente.
Finalmente sostiene la cuprífera que Codelco reitera su compromiso con seguir trabajando por desarrollar una minería sustentable con el medio ambiente y con las comunidades locales.
