En Abril del próximo año comenzaría la construcción del nuevo cuartel de la Prefectura de Los Andes de la Policía de Investigaciones (PDI), gracias a una inversión de más de $ 7.700 millones aprobada por el Consejo Regional (CORE) de Valparaíso.
Así fue confirmado durante una visita al terreno de 12.538,80 m2 donde se emplazará el edificio, en la calle Hermanos Clark N° 280 de Los Andes, hasta donde llegaron autoridades encabezadas por el intendente regional, Jorge Martínez; los consejeros regionales Christian Macaya, Percy Marín, Edith Quiroz y María Victoria Rodríguez; la diputada Camila Flores, el alcalde de Los Andes, Manuel Rivera y oficiales de la PDI, con el fin de conocer los detalles del diseño y plazos de la obra, cuya licitación está programada para fines de Octubre 2020.
El presidente de la Comisión de Seguridad Ciudadana y Protección Civil, Christian Macaya Abarca, indicó que “la reposición de la Prefectura de Los Andes de la PDI es un proyecto muy importante para el CORE, que ha implicado una significativa inversión. Hemos conocido el diseño y los plazos de construcción, lo que nos deja muy contentos”
A ello agregó que “las características del nuevo edificio significan un mejoramiento de las condiciones laborales de la dotación policial como también para la atención del público, pues esta unidad presta servicio a las provincias de Los Andes, San Felipe y Petorca. No cabe duda que la Seguridad Ciudadana y la Salud son los temas de mayor interés para la comunidad, y el CORE está poniendo un acento importante en estas áreas”.
Cabe señalar que el proyecto contempla la construcción de 5.250,75 m2 en tres niveles más estacionamientos, considerando además el equipamiento, lo que representa una solución integral al déficit de infraestructura y funcionalidad que presentan las actuales instalaciones. Actualmente se cuenta con una dotación de 130 funcionarios y en el futuro se ampliará a 210.
El recinto albergará a la Jefatura Provincial y todas sus Unidades dependientes, como: Asesoría Técnica, Brigada Investigadora de Robos, Brigada de Investigación Criminal, Brigada de Homicidios, Brigada de Delitos Sexuales, Brigada Investigadora de Delitos Económicos, Brigada Antinarcóticos y Contra el Crimen Organizado, Oficina de Análisis Criminal, Departamento de Extranjería y Policía Internacional Los Andes, unidad a cargo del servicio permanente del paso fronterizo Los Libertadores.
