Desde el 2014 a la fecha completamos entonces 46 médicos que están en ciclo destinación en nuestra zona, cumpliendo íntegramente el compromiso presidencial de disminuir la falta de médicos generales en la zona”, señaló la Dra Vilma Olave, Directora del Servicio de Salud.
En una ceremonia de bienvenida realizada en el Patio de Los Cañones del Palacio La Moneda, la Presidenta Michelle Bachelet y la Ministra de Salud Carmen Castillo, dieron la bienvenida a más de 1.000 médicos que inician su período de destinación y formación (EDF) en servicios de Atención Primaria del Sistema Público de Salud, y también a los profesionales que inician Beca de especialización.
Entre ellos, se encontraban los nuevos médicos que desde este año optaron por una plaza para cumplir su destinación en establecimientos del Valle de Aconcagua, quienes junto con manifestar su alegría y satisfacción por incorporarse a la red de atención de salud de Aconcagua reiteraron su compromiso de entregar una atención de la mayor calidad, cercana a la gente y a la comunidad.
También se encontraban los siete profesionales que optaron por un cupo de beca de especialización, quienes a partir del 01 de abril de este año inician su programa de formación, por un periodo de 3 años, y que luego de finalizada, deben cumplir con el Periodo Asistencial Obligatorio, retornando como especialistas a desempeñarse en diferentes establecimientos del Servicio de Salud, por al menos 6 años.
El Dr. Nicolás Yoma, uno de los nuevos médicos que optó por un cupo de beca de especialización, específicamente en Psiquiatría, con retorno a Aconcagua, junto con expresar su alegría admitió que “al momento de tomar la decisión de volver al servicio público opté por Aconcagua y particularmente por el hospital Dr. Philippe Pinel de Putaendo dada la necesidad de especialistas, específicamente en mi área. Dado el déficit de profesionales y la prevalencia de enfermedades de salud mental, es un agrado y un deber devolverle la mano al Estado. Me siento útil en ese aspecto. Putaendo tiene su historia y creo que me incorporaré al servicio de psiquiatría más importante del país a mi juicio. Es muy gratificante llegar ahí.”
La Ministra de Salud Carmen Castilllo, refiriéndose a los médicos que se incorporarán a Aconcagua señaló que “la destinación de nueve facultativos y esta posibilidad de contar con médicos recién egresados, tiene un rol muy importante en la atención primaria y es algo que queremos dejar consolidado como gobierno, dado que queremos entregar mejores especialistas, como lo es ahora por ejemplo en Aconcagua con nueve nuevos especialistas. Pero además, es importante también por el hecho que vienen a reforzar las especialidades de los hospitales de Los Andes y San Felipe más todos los otros que están en la jurisdicción. “
Por su parte, la Subdirectora de las Personas del Servicio de Salud Cecilia Cid, explicó que “Los nuevos profesionales que ingresan al Servicio forman parte del Plan de Ingreso, Formación y Retención de Especialistas del Ministerio de Salud, y significa el reforzamiento de la atención en salud para las comunas de Llay Llay, Putaendo, San Felipe, y Los Andes, y en otros casos una expansión de horas médicas, tal como ocurrirá por ejemplo en la comuna de Catemu con la incorporación de un médico más.”
Finalmente, la Directora del Servicio de Salud Aconcagua, Dra Vilma Olave, declaró estar muy contenta porque “Para este año contamos con seis cargos adicionales que incrementan la dotación de médicos en destinación, en todo el valle del Aconcagua, tanto en establecimientos dependientes como en establecimientos municipales. Ahora tenemos un total de 46 médicos en ciclo de destinación, los que se conocían antes como médicos generales de zona. Hay que decir que en abril ingresarán 9 profesionales de los cuales seis cargos corresponden a expansión y tres son de continuidad y serán destinados a las comunas de Los Andes, San Felipe, Putaendo y Llay Llay y Catemu para cumplir íntegramente las orientaciones de la Presidenta Bachelet de aumentar médicos generales en los establecimientos de atención primaria de la zona.”
