Segunda rotura del ducto n°3 cerca de la planta de filtros de la División Andina, repitiéndose el incidente medio ambiental ocurrido el pasado miércoles, obligará a Codelco adelantar cambio de 21 kilómetros de la cañería transportadora de concentrado de cobre. Incidente operacional no tiene relación con el río
Tras el nuevo incidente de este sábado, División Andina en un escueto comunicado de prensa informó que este ocurrió alrededor de las 15:30, en el ducto N°3 que transporta concentrado.
Precisando que la falla se detectó en los 300 metros finales de la tubería, al llegar a la planta de filtros ubicada en el sector de Saladillo y generó una rotura menor del ducto, aflorando 1 m3 de material al camino pavimentado adyacente.
Los sistemas de alerta y la oportuna respuesta, permitieron contener el material sobre el pavimento y en un sector acotado. Al final de la tarde de hoy se proyecta terminará el retiro del material y la limpieza de la calle.
En el mismo documento División Andina, afirma que esta rotura ocurrida en un sector industrial, no tuvo ninguna relación con el Río Blanco y fue informada a las autoridades respectivas.
Cambio de 21 kilómetros de cañería
El Gobernador de Los Andes, Alonso Retamales, ratificó que la rotura de este sábado fue en el mismo ducto que presentó problemas el miércoles; “lo que afortunadamente no implicó problemas a la seguridad de captación de agua que hace ESVAL en el río Aconcagua. El escurrimiento fue mucho menos del ocurrido en la semana, hablamos de un 1 m3, y no hubo ningún compromiso con las aguas del río Blanco o el río Aconcagua.”
La autoridad provincial (s) señaló que este lunes se realizará una reunión con Sernageomin y la Gerencia de Codelco División Andina para conocer las medidas que se están adoptando frente a estas reiterativas emergencias ambientales.
“Informalmente se nos ha adelantado que habrá un cambio de 21 kilómetros del ducto, porque más allá de los cálculos y lo que está programado, esta cañería cumplió su vida útil y no se ha repuesto.”-sostuvo Retamales.
El Gobernador indicó que el inicio de este recambio del ducto pasaría solo por la disposición del material necesario; “y eso lo vamos a conversar este lunes con la gente de Codelco.”
¿Entonces las dos roturas de esta semana fueron por fatiga de material del ducto?
“Tenemos entendido que la vida útil es de 25 años y llevaría 20 años aproximadamente el ducto funcionando y con este tercer incidente en el año Codelco, que no es casual, prefiere hacer el cambio que ya tenía programado hacerlo. Ahora el tema pasa por el stock de material que ellos tengan para hacer la reposición, pero el tema se va a solucionar.”
¿Hay transparencia y disposición de Codelco en esto?
“Si, lógicamente que ellos tienen que hacer la inversión porque aquí está la salud de las personas en juego y para eso se debe mantener la seguridad en todo lo que son las faenas y no ponga en peligro la salud de la personas y eso se debe resguardar como prioridad y en ese contexto se ha conversado con la gente de Codelco, quienes nos han informado extraoficialmente el cambio del ducto.”
