La Escuela Básica “El Corazón” en el sector Cariño Botado, finalizó sus actividades alusivas a sus 87º años de creación, con la esperada inauguración de las obras de techumbre que se instaló en el patio del establecimiento, que suma con esto una serie de mejoras durante los últimos 4 años. La Escuela Básica “El Corazón”, es otro de los establecimientos educacionales de la red municipal de San Esteban que se suma a una serie de mejoras en infraestructura. Esta vez, se trata una estructura de techumbre que ha permitido mejores condiciones para sus alumnos y comunidad educativa.
En una ceremonia realizada en el patio central, el Alcalde de San Esteban, René Mardones, acompañado por el Jefe DAEM, Jaime Rojas; y el Director de la Escuela “El Corazón”, Marco Cordero, resaltaron el trabajo y mejoras que se han desarrollado en éste y otros colegios de la red municipal.
“Este escuela era muy pequeña y no tenía las comodidades que tiene ahora; había un comedor precario, faltaban salas, cierre perimetral también precario, no había multicancha, ni mobiliario adecuado. Hemos hecho una serie de inversiones en San Esteban en particular en esta escuela, para dar cuenta del compromiso de esta autoridad y el concejo municipal con la educación municipalizada”, aseveró el Alcalde Mardones.
Una “linda y cruda realidad” según manifestaron los propios profesores: salas de clases húmedas, patio inundado en época de lluvia y almuerzos dispersos en salas. Hoy, la cara es distinta: salas renovadas de material sólido; sistema de evacuación de aguas lluvias, un comedor con cupo para cerca de 200 alumnos, una multicancha y estacionamiento ubicado en un terreno colindante a la escuela, y un patio central techado.
El director de la Escuela “El Corazón”, Marco Cordero, en su alocución dijo que se trata de un sector bastante frío en invierno, por lo que inicialmente está destinado a proteger a los niños del frío, y en el verano, del sol. “Para nuestra comunidad es importante protegerlos, tenerlos en un lugar cubierto para que puedan jugar y desarrollarse”. Además se refirió a las distintas mejoras que ha tenido el establecimiento en los últimos 4 años.
El Jefe del Departamento de Educación Municipal, Jaime Rojas, añadió que, “hemos dado importancia a lo que es la inclusividad en nuestra comuna y ésta no es la excepción. Este colegio atiende a más de 100 niños con problemas de aprendizaje y tenemos un deber moral de continuar con el apoyo a nuestras familias”.
Junto con bendecir las nuevas instalaciones, las autoridades mostraron su satisfacción por los 87 años que cumplió “El Corazón”, ya además se homenajeó a la profesora Julia Roco quien se acogerá a retiro voluntario, y al ex director Miguel Ángel Aguilera por sus 38 años al servicio de este establecimiento educacional.
