Club Almendral Alto se coronó Campeón de la Copa Cordillera de AFAVA

En la gran final que comenzó a disputarse a contar de las 11:00 horas de este domingo en el estadio Municipal de San Felipe, con un marco de público que llegó a las mil personas aproximadamente, Almendral Alto y René Schneider brindaron un espectáculo deportivo que enaltece el fútbol amateur, por el excelente comportamiento que tuvieron las hinchadas y jugadores de las cuatro series en competencia.

El Club Almendral Alto fue el absoluto ganador de la jornada, comenzando muy temprano a sumar puntos para quedarse sin apelación con la Copa, ya que en el primer partido correspondiente a la Tercera serie los almendralinos ganaron 3-2 el emblemático René Schneider, mientras que en Segunda serie también se quedó con el triunfo por 2-1. En tanto en la categoría Seniors ambos equipos repartieron puntos con un empate cero a cero, quedando la definición para el último partido de la jornada entre las Primeras o equipo de honor de ambos clubes.

En este crucial encuentro donde Almendral Alto con un empate se coronaba campeón, las barras no dejaron de alentar a sus oncenas, y fueron precisamente los sanfelipeños los que abrieron el marcador mediante lanzamiento penal lanzado por Ricardo Cataldo. Con la temprana ventaja local, los andinos salieron a buscar rápidamente emparejar el marcador, porque la única opción de levantar la Copa era el triunfo, pero se quedaron en las ganas porque futbolísticamente los almendralinos siempre fueron más y así lo reflejaron en el dominio del balón y lógicamente en el marcador jugándose ya la segunda parte, con goles de Isaac Rozas y el doblete de Guido Hidalgo.

Un triunfo categórico de Almendral Alto que desató la algarabía de su numerosa y ruidosa hinchada y el respeto de jugadores y barra de René Schneider, dando un verdadero ejemplo de lo que debe ser un espectáculo deportivo y del fútbol amateur.

Almendral Alto por segunda vez levanta la Copa Cordillera, anteriormente la había ganado el año 2004. En tanto, René Schneider no pudo coronarse por primera vez en este torneo de la AFAVA y tuvo que conformarse con el segundo lugar.

Los alcaldes Patricio Freire de San Felipe y Claudio Zurita de Santa María, acompañaron a los dirigentes de AFAVA en la entrega de medallas y la Copa Cordillera en el estadio Municipal, recinto que fue protagonista y testigo de una hermosa fiesta del fútbol amateur del valle de Aconcagua.
