Tras la presentación que realizó el Seremi de Obras Públicas, Miguel Saavedra del estudio en marcha del proyecto embalse Pocuro Alto en el sector de Los Rosales en Calle Larga, el alcalde Nelson Venegas y Concejo Municipal, expresaron públicamente su oposición a la iniciativa y a la falta de información. En la jornada, se mostró la etapa en la que va el proyecto y las posibles vías de canales de devolución, sin embargo, el alcalde Venegas se opuso al proyecto y a la manera en que la cartera ha entregado información, ya que se ha trabajado desde hace meses en la comuna, sin invitar al municipio a ninguna reunión o muestra del estudio hasta ahora.
“Para nosotros esto es un hecho muy grave, lo hemos expresado nuestra molestia porque somos autoridades de la comuna, fuimos elegidos por la comuna y no es posible que ya se encuentre trabajando en un proyecto de esta envergadura, de esta naturaleza y de este impacto, sin que nosotros tengamos un conocimiento cabal y real con respecto a lo que se está haciendo. Creemos que nos merecemos más respeto y en ese sentido yo principalmente como alcalde le he manifestado mi rechazo al proyecto de embalse si es que no se solucionan las cosas relevantes.” Sostuvo el alcalde Nelson Venegas.
La preocupación de la Máxima autoridad comunal, es que no se ha aclarado qué es lo que va a pasar con las personas que viven en la zona que se pretende inundar y que serán expropiadas, las que viven detrás del muro y los vestigios arqueológicos que se encuentran en la zona entre otros.
“En general la comuna de Calle Larga como terreno afectado se ha visto sobrepasada en lo que se refiere a la información que no se ha entregado, más allá de estar a favor o en contra, creemos que la manera se ha constituido prácticamente en una falta de respeto, se lo expresamos y así quedo registrado en acta y por lo tanto existe una obligación de parte de ellos de manejar una comunicación mucho más fluida de parte de ellos y como concejo hemos decidido comenzar a actuar como contraparte, porque no queremos que el embalse se construya y no nos hayamos opuesto a aquellas cuestiones que afectan a la gente que vive en nuestra comuna.”
En la reunión, se solicitó al seremi actuar con más transparencia al momento de entregar información a los vecinos y al municipio.
