En un significativo y emotivo acto, la Escuela Rebeca Jhonson de Las Compuertas en Catemu, celebró el día del medioambiente y con la presencia de las autoridades locales, realizó la inauguración de una nueva y moderna sala de clases, financiada por el municipio en conjunto con la empresa Anglo American. Ante un gran número de asistentes, entre ellos el Alcalde Boris Luksic, la concejala Aurora Medina, el concejal Richard Concha, representantes de la empresa AngloAmerican y de Fundación La Semilla, directores de otros establecimientos de la comuna, la comunidad escolar, alumnos, padres y apoderados, entre otros invitados, disfrutaron de una ceremonia que comenzó con la entonación del himno patrio.
Posteriormente un alumno del establecimiento realizó la lectura de un poema que con mensajes alusivos a la importancia del cuidado del medioambiente, y un grupo de alumnos presentó una coreografía. También una apoderada escribió y leyó un poema, donde hizo referencia a la Escuela y al cariño que la comunidad del sector siente por el establecimiento.
La Directora, Leonor Guajardo, entregó un mensaje muy emotivo a los asistentes, dando las gracias a todos quienes colaboran con la Escuela, y principalmente al Alcalde, reconociendo el apoyo y respaldo para realizar un buen trabajo con los educandos.
Los alumnos y alumnas de la Escuela interpretaron un tema musical, invitando a todos a cuidarnuestra naturaleza y el mundo, directamente relacionado con el Día del Medioambiente, al igual que la entrega que realizó el Alcalde, regalando en esta oportunidad, 100 árboles, para los alumnos y comunidad del sector, continuando así con el plan de reforestación del Municipio, entregando más de 1600 árboles a la fecha, durante 2016.
El Alcalde dio un saludo durante la ceremonia, destacando principalmente los positivos avances que ha experimentado la Escuela en estos últimos años, bajo su administración, fundamentalmente en el aumento de matrículas que la escuela ha tenido, de 9 a 39 alumnos, evitando así el cierre del establecimiento, que en algún minuto se temía.
“Quiero felicitar a toda la comunidad educativa de la Escuela Rebeca Jhonson, y muy especialmente a su Directora, Leonor Guajaro, quien ha liderado el funcionamiento de este establecimiento, con muy buenos resultados. Cuando la labor educativa se realiza con responsabilidad y cariño, los resultados saltan a la vista, mis felicitaciones a todos, y un agradecimiento especial a los apoderados, por confiar a sus niños y niñas en la educación que otorgamos desde el Municipio”, señaló el Alcalde Luskic.
